Consulting Services
Geographic Magic is a full-service consulting firm that provides a wide range of services for its clients. This is a list of just some of the services we can provide:
- Introduce you to Geographic Information Services (GIS) technology and aid you in evaluating whether GIS is an appropriate tool for your organization at this point in time.
- Help you define your organization’s needs.
- Discuss the different types of benefits and costs associated with either bringing GIS “know how” in-house or using an outside consultant.
- Help you create a GIS plan and a budget for your organization
- Aid in turning data you generate in-house into GIS data.
- Help you identify and obtain relevant data and information outside your organization that can help you achieve your goals.
- Assist you in tailoring the GIS portion of your grant proposals.
- Help you identify your hardware and software needs and prepare for the possibility of purchasing additional equipment sometime in the future.
- Train your employees on basic GIS-related tasks including database filling, using a template to create a map, or how to place spatial data.
- Contract with you to do all work needed.
- Help you identify consultants with related areas of expertise as your needs dictate.
- We will work for you on an hourly basis, if that fits best into your budget.
- Your only charge will be for our work, the cost of data acquisition or the cost associated with printing anything larger than 11”xl7.” We will be happy to provide you with a written estimate of the cost of your project.
Clients
I am happy to provide professional references and examples of work which I have done.
- American Littoral Society : I worked with them to create Smart Growth Action Maps relating to land use and land cover.
- Monmouth Conservation Foundation: I work with them to create property maps to define locations of interest for purchase for preservation. I also create property maps to fulfil the requirements of particular grants, and create county-wide property maps for them - showing both publically owned land(to purchase adjoining lots) and to look at other variables(such as endangered species habitat) which might help them to select properties. Also creating maps of all their purchased land, and targeted areas.
